On March 11, 2021, the first 2 Rainbow containers from the #InclusionAllTheWay Campaign set sail, embarking on a world tour. The two containers are the 40-ft container and 20-ft containers boarded on the Maersk Edmonton, going from APM Terminals Pier 400 in Los Angeles to Yokohama and visited several locations across Asia and Europe. They then finish the first leg in Denmark to attend the Copenhagen Pride Festival before continuing their round-the-world trip in 2022. Gemadept Shipping is honored to participate in this journey when transporting a 40-ft Rainbow container on board of the Phuoc Long 06, on the Vietnam - Cambodia route.

The idea of the #InclusionAllTheWay Campaign to bring 2 Maersk Line Rainbow containers around the world was initiated by the Maersk for Inclusion Excellence team of 100 employees in North America under the leadership of Rob Townley, Maersk's Special Project Manager in the region. The project aims to raise awareness of D&I in the working environment of Maersk and its partners globally. D&I stands for two words "Diversity & Inclusion", a term that has become quite popular with organizations and businesses in human resource management, meaning respecting the diversity and harmony of the staff and not discriminating on the basis of age, color. skin, gender, race, religion, political opinion, region, educational background…

Mr. Townley said, “… The round-the-world journey of these containers (Rainbow Containers) will serve as a reminder to those who feel different and out of place in their own environment that they are not alone, because there are always people standing by them and accepting them regardless of race, gender, age, ethnicity, religion, political opinion, etc. or people with disabilities.”
